The Nakita has been chosen as a top pick for Valentine's Day by the Accessories Council!

Accessories Council

I feel honored to have my Nakita handbag chosen as one of the Accessories Council's top picks for Valentines Day Gifts. The Nakita bag is a luxury bag made from top grain leather and has the important feature of an interior touch light. The touch light is a minicomputer board that is encased in a small discreet leather pocket on the upper interior of the bag. It only requires a simple tap or swipe of the finger to switch the light on or off.

After not being able to find anything in the deep, dark abyss of my handbag, I decided that there had to be a better way to see inside my bag instead of rummaging through it and hoping for the best.  The obvious answer was to get a miniature flashlight, use my cell phone, or hope to find a lamp somewhere nearby that was readily available. The problem with the flashlight is that I would have to hang it on the inside of my purse (or worse yet, the outside) - not exactly an elegant solution. The cell phone made sense until I realized that I would have to actually dig around to find the cellphone first which was, of course, lost inside the dark interior of the bag.

It was important to me that design and quality of the light match up with the design and quality of my handbags. The high-quality handbags are made with top grain leather, high-end zippers that slide smoothly, thick & sturdy stitching, strong  lining, and high-polished signature hardware. I needed something simple.  I also needed a partner. Luckily,  I found one at a family reunion with my Uncle Joe.

Uncle Joe is an award winning computer & marketing engineer who has been living in the South of France for over 30 years. He decided that a touch light would be the most effective, discreet, and easy to use option.  Upon his return to his studio in France, the development of the invention began. We had several different versions to choose from until he finally designed a mini computer board with touch capabilities. The light is concealed inside a small leather pouch and sewn into the top interior of the bag. Once it it activated the light turns off automatically after 30 seconds.

We filed the patent, and the collection was on it's way to fruition.

The middle of the mini-computer has a touch sensitive area that activates the light. The touch light runs on a regular lithium watch battery that is removable and easily self- replaced.

My collection of luxury bags has 6 styles with a built-in touch light and 2 bags that are small enough not to need a light. It's an innovation that has been years in the making and I'm happy to say that the task was successfully completed.  I'm happy to help other women illuminate their belongings and save the time and energy it takes to fumble through their bag in the dark. I'm sure we all have more pleasurable things to do with our time.

The collection is currently available exclusively online at ugoji.com.  I'm making appointments to collaborate with luxury boutiques throughout the year, beginning with accessories week next month.  Feel free to contact me at chinyere@ugoji.com for further information.

Sincerely,

Chinyere
